The College  of Arts and Sciences encompasses five departments: The Department of Language Studies and the Arts, The Department of Social Sciences, The Department of Mathematics and Science, The Department of Philosophy, Theology and Religion and the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies. We offer several exciting degree programs to more than 3,000 students at Education Centers in seven states and worldwide through Saint Leo’s online degree programs.  At the heart of the College are our 76 full-time faculty members from diverse fields of study ranging from biology to sociology.

We are proud to provide the essential, foundational learning for all Saint Leo University students through our liberal-arts based University Explorations curriculum. Our courses offer students a broad education that lays a durable foundation for critical and independent thinking.

Each year we host a robust series of events and programs at the school and departmental levels, including: New Moon Concert Series, Art Gala, Theatre productions, A Celebration of Black History, Hispanic Heritage Celebration, Women’s HERstory Celebration, Constitution Day, Literature for Lunch, Math Circles, Bridge Building Competition, Sandhill Writer’s Retreat and A Saint Leo Christmas Concert.

The College of Arts and Sciences’ Saint Leo Honors Program is devoted to developing the whole person in a community committed to academic excellence and the study of significant ideas and arguments. Membership is by invitation only and generally represents the top 10% of our University Campus students. Arts and Sciences also sponsors the following Honors Societies: Biology, History, Political Science, English and Religion. We are host the Chemistry Club, Environmental Club, Math Club, Psychology  Club, and Sociology Club.
